Weekly Planning Recap...Weekend Planning...

Last night, Hubby & I finally watched Lone Survivor. I may be the last person in America to watch this, but I knew it was going to be hard to watch. I knew I would be very emotional. And I was right. It was an amazing film, but I cried most of the way through it. God Bless the men and women who willingly sacrifice and put their lives on the line to fight for freedom, for us and for others.

    Weekend Planning...6/27-30/14

I started weekend planning back when I discovered the blog My Happy House. Her organization style appealed to me. I fell off the wagon as I so usually do, since I haven't quite discovered the full joy of following through with a task. Self-motivation isn't one of my strong suits. Since becoming a housewife, I have struggled with my dislike of cleaning and my laziness (to put it bluntly.) So, I devised schedules, routines and organizational lists for myself that have all failed. The failure isn't on the part of the schedules, lists or routines, but strictly falls into the "user-error" category. haha

I thought I'd bring back weekend and weekly planning to try to keep me more on track and accountable. I include Monday so I already have a plan for Monday in my mind over the weekend, I also included Friday this week to get started, even though it is already Friday afternoon.

So this weekend, we don't have a lot on the schedule.
    Friday:
Pathfinder Game Night - Hubby convinced me to try out this role playing game, so we are headed to the local game store for the weekly meet-up.
Dinner: Grilled Chicken legs, butternut squash lasagna, fruit salad --Check out this post regarding our attempt at a Whole30.
    Vacuum downstairs
    Workout: PIYO- Define Lower Body

    Saturday:
Spray outside the house for bugs (a monthly task in FL)
Wash the windows - In & Out
Strip bed, Wash sheets & dust/vacuum bedroom
    Scoop litter box
Workout: PIYO - Define Upper Body
    Breakfast: Eggs, bacon, fruit
    Lunch: Leftovers
Dinner: CP Beef Roast, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts

    Sunday:
Workout: PIYO Rest - run 30 minutes with dogs & hubby
    Breakfast: eggs, bacon, fruit
    Lunch: Out
Seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark at the historic theatre in town.
    Dinner: Leftovers
I typically rest from housework on Sundays, but I want to sweep and tidy up the garage a bit.
    Scoop litter box
    Trash night

    Monday:
Breakfast: Shakeology (My sister is a coach, swears by this, and since I have packets, I'll use them.)
    Lunch: Leftovers
    Dinner: Refrigerator dump
    Workout: PIYO- Sweat
    Scoop litter box
    Pay bills
    Clean bathrooms
    Wash Towels
    Soak hubby's work shirts
    Vacuum downstairs

I'll check back in on Monday to update you on what happened/didn't happen!

    Weekend Planning

I went to bed last night determined to sleep in late and do nothing today. This past week I have had a really hard time sleeping. I'd wake up at 4 AM and it was like my body REFUSED to go back to sleep. This resulted, of course in extremely tired days after and early an early bed time...only to wake again at 4 AM. Luckily by the end of the week I was able to sleep normally although I was still feeling more tired than usual.

So, I went to bed last night fully determined to sleep in late and do nothing!

My dogs, on the other hand, had other plans. I had given my hubby strict instructions to not wake me as he went to work this morning, but I guess I forgot to mention to him that it would be his responsibility to let the dogs out and feed them before he left. On typical mornings I do this whenever I get up for the day, and usually on the weekends, the dogs will be kind and let me sleep in until 8 or so.

But, oh no, not today! 6:45 AM they were quite insistent to go out for their morning constitutional! UGH!

Well, so ok, no sleeping in for me. I did get to enjoy my luxury of relaxing in bed with my cuppa joe and watch the weekend news. The longer I sat, the more I felt anxious to get up and DO something. *SIGH* I guess it's a good thing to feel motivated.

I created a list of what I would like to get done this weekend and that list includes:
    • Clean litter box (not just scoop...but really clean it)
    • Clean laundry room
    • Vacuum living room, bar/dining room & stairs
    • Vacuum kitchen, daycare, hallway & master bathroom
    • Mop kitchen, hallway, bath, laundry room, living room & bar/dining room
    • Wash sheets, daycare laundry, towels & take personal laundry to laundry room to sort
    • Empty dehumidifiers (2 downstairs)
    • Vacuum breezeway & wash dog bed covers
    • Clean out Jeep & vacuum back
    • Drive to Mom's and get table & chairs
    • Put table & chairs together
    • Go for a 4-6 mile run
    • Clean upstairs & downstairs bath
    • Make menu for coming week(s)
    • Grocery shop for needed items
    • Trip to Michael's or AC Moore for craft supplies (stay tuned for that project)
    • Trip to Home Depot to get a new seal for downstairs shower drain (that might be another post) & price out plywood/mdf for DIY shelves for laundry room & office (also might be another post -- if they ever get done!)

So I think that is all on the list. I will try to update Monday morning with a re-cap and a "Did I do it" list.

    Have a great weekend y'all!!

    Clean daycare desk

    Weekend Accomplishments...

So last Friday, I attempted to begin to hold myself accountable for my lack of motivation and participated in Molly's (My Happy House) and Gia's (A Life In Progress) Weekend Plannign Blog Hop.

Here is what I accomplished this weekend!
Friday: I had to work my normal 6:30am to 5:00pm:
Supervise delivery of our new WINDOWS!!!! -they are beeee-uuuutiful! I can't wait until we can install them!!!!!
    Deep clean the bathroom
    Wash towels
    Mop kitchen & bath floors
Make Garlic Chicken and Vegetables for dinner --hubby made chicken curry and rice instead! YUMMY

Saturday: Hubby worked this weekend and I woke up with another bout of this cold I can't kick...oh joy, week 2 of it.
Order new rug for living room-- decided to wait until it went on sale again, plus hubby isn't 100% sold
    Change sheets in Master bedroom
    Deep clean kitchen
    Michaels run for daycare supplies
Wal-mart run for daycare supplies (and a folding footstool!) --mish mashed enough other supplies together, I didn't need to go! yippee
    Farmer's Market
2 loads of laundry --happened on Sunday...still kinda counts right?
Dinner: leftovers -- therefore clean out fridge --hubby's brother & sis-in-law were in town with our nephews so we ended up at the in laws for dinner...so fridge did not get cleaned out :( There's always Wednesday.

    Sunday:
    Clean out Pantry
Install new organization systems for pantry (should be arriving on Saturday I'm soooo excited)
Replace pantry items in new organized pantry-- see the new Pantry Overhaul!
    4 loads of laundry
    Pre-plan Halloween curriculum for daycare
organize craft items & recycled items for crafts
organize daycare desk, clean, sort and trash
??Mow lawn -- this one totally depends on if it stops raining!
    Dinner: Tuna Noodle Casserole

I am so proud of myself! Even with a cold, I still managed to accomplish most of my to-be-dones!
